NEW MEMBER INFORMATION & WAIVER

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the En Garde Fencing athletic/sports program, related events, camps and activities. I, the undersigned and all those I may be signing for, acknowledge appreciate and agree that:

1. The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist: and,

2. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the releasees or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation: and,

3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If however I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately: and,

4. I for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, Hereby release and hold harmless, En Garde Fencing, their officers, officials, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releasees”), with respect to any and all injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property, whether arising from the negligence of the releasees or otherwise.

5. I understand that at En Garde Fencing events and activities, I may be photographed and/or filmed. I agree to allow my name, voice, photo, video, or likeness relating to my participation with En Garde Fencing to be used for any legitimate purpose by event holders, sponsors, organizers, and/or assigns, and I waive all copyrights, rights of publicity or privacy and rights to any compensation in perpetuity to which I may otherwise be entitled as a result of the use of my name, voice, photo, video, and/or likeness.

6. I have read and understand the EGF Code of Conduct, and will abide by those rules and the decisions of the EGF Code of Conduct Committee.

En Garde Fencing Code of Conduct

Abstract

This document contains the Code of Conduct for En Garde Fencing (EGF). Safety, inclusivity, and professionalism are the key pillars to our club's ethos. It is important for all members to carry that ethos with them both here at EGF and away at events. By participating in EGF activities, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.

Code of Conduct

All EGF members agree:

To treat all members equally and with respect. EGF does not tolerate discrimination or offensive conduct based on gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, political beliefs, citizenship, or disability.

That violations of physical, mental, or social safety will not be tolerated.

That sexual harassment will not be tolerated.

To respect every person’s identity, and to identify them per their wishes, such as but not

limited to respecting their preferred pronouns.

That theft, abuse, or destruction of EGF or personal property will not be tolerated.

EGF’s Discord Server

EGF maintains a Discord server for communication and social purposes. Involvement is optional and open to all EGF members who are ages 18 and older or those under 18 years old with a parent or guardian’s written permission. Certain off-topic channels are restricted to those under 18 years old.

EGF’s Code of Conduct applies while in the Discord.

Disciplinary Action

All violations of the Code of Conduct reported will be reviewed by the points of contact below with disciplinary action issued based on the facts of the incident.
Disciplinary actions will range from formal warnings to expulsion from the club.

I have read this release of liability and assumption of risk agreement, fully understand its terms understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and sign it freely and voluntarily without any Inducement. 

For Participants of Minority Age (Under 18 at time of registration)

This is to certify that I, as a parent/guardian with legal responsibility for this participant, do consent and agree to his/her release as provided above of all the Releases, and, for myself, my heirs, assigns, and next of kin, I release and agree to indemnify the Releases from any and all liabilities incident to my minor child’s involvement or participation in those programs as provided above, even if arising from the negligence of the releases, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Waiver must be signed before participating. 18 & over you must have valid I.D. to prove age.
