ABOUT THE PROGRAM
En Garde Fencing teaches numerous classes in Santa Rosa and throughout Sonoma County. Fencing is a unique and fascinating sport. It is at once physically challenging and mentally engaging. We teach group classes for ages seven and up, and we work hard to make it affordable and fun for all our students. Take a look at our list of classes to see how easy it is to get started, and then come by to try us out! It is not necessary to buy equipment to begin fencing. We provide basic fencing gear at no extra cost as part of your membership to get you started.
YOUTH BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE FENCING CLASSES (AGES 7-12)
Time: Ages 7-12: 5-6PM
Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (Saturdays 11AM-12PM)
Cost: $20 Drop-in, or as low as $100 per month Unlimited Membership or $80 per month Limited Membership rate (depending on term of membership). (Includes gear); $50/month Family Rate per additional family member.
What to wear: Sweats or shorts, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes.
What to bring: A bottle of water
If you've never fenced before, drop in and check out our Youth Beginner class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5-6PM. We also have a class on Saturdays from 11AM-12PM (ages 7+). No experience is necessary! This is a great way to familiarize yourself with the sport of fencing to decide if this is the right sport for you. The cost for a drop-in is $20 per class; call for details. Teens and adults should check out the regular 7-9PM class listed below for a full evening experience.
TEEN/ADULT FENCING (ALL LEVELS) (AGES 13+)
Times: Group warmup and skill training: 7-7:30PM; Open Fencing 7:30-9PM
Days: Mon./Wed./Fri.
Cost: $20 Drop-in, or as low as $100 per month Unlimited Membership or $80 per month Limited Membership rate (depending on term of membership). (Includes gear); $50/month Family Rate per additional family member.
What to wear: Workout clothes, tennis shoes.
What to bring: A water bottle, a change of clothes
Club Fencing Nights are available for teens and adults every week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7-9PM. We teach both the foil and the épée in our teen/adult classes. Beginners usually start with the foil to learn the fundamentals and then can choose to train with either the foil or épée. The floor fee is $20 per drop-in. All beginner safety gear is provided as part of the membership.
